New Tampa is a master-planned district in the northeast corner of the City of Tampa, developed from the late 1980s after it was annexed by the city in 1988. Tampa Palms and Hunters Green were among the first communities out of the ground, golf-course neighborhoods laid out along Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. Gated communities like Arbor Greene, Grand Hampton, and Live Oak Preserve followed, along with family neighborhoods such as West Meadows, Cross Creek, K-Bar Ranch, Heritage Isles, Pebble Creek, and Easton Park off Cross Creek Boulevard, County Line Road, and Morris Bridge Road. Most of these 1990s-through-2000s homes came with builder-grade kitchens and baths and closed-off layouts, and they are long overdue for a true upgrade.
