Tierra Verde is an island community at the entrance of Tampa Bay, connected to St. Petersburg and St. Pete Beach by the Pinellas Bayway, and its homes reflect that. Gated, canal-front island homes with private docks and boat lifts line the waterways off the Pinellas Bayway, opening onto Tampa Bay and Boca Ciega Bay. The islands stayed largely undeveloped until the Pinellas Bayway opened in 1962, so most homes are Mediterranean and coastal builds from the 1970s through the 2000s across Monte Cristo, Entrada, Sands Point, Bayview, and Oceanview, with Fort De Soto Park just to the south.
