The Town of Belleair Shore may be the smallest town in Florida. Roughly 55 homes and about 100 residents sit on one stretch of the barrier island, and every single house is on the west side of Gulf Boulevard with the Gulf of Mexico in its back yard. There are no stores, no restaurants, no hotels, no schools, and no churches inside the town limits. It is entirely residential, entirely single-family, and there is no through-traffic destination to bring anyone in who does not live here.
That makes remodeling here a different job than remodeling a mile inland. Homes are large, individually designed, and sit on generous beachfront lots, so almost nothing repeats from one address to the next. Some are older beach houses built decades ago; others have been rebuilt from the ground up on elevated piling foundations.
